The Tree Climbing Lions of Ishasha
One of the most unique wildlife behaviors in the world can be found in the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Unlike lions elsewhere, the prides here have adapted the habit of climbing large fig trees to rest during the heat of the day.
This behavior protects them from ground insects and offers a cool breeze and a strategic vantage point to spot unsuspecting prey like the Uganda Kob.
