History Written in Rhythm
Music is the heartbeat of the Bakonzo community. Whether we host a harvest celebration, a wedding, or welcome guests from far away, we do it with sound and movement. We invite you to sit front-row for a private performance that showcases the energy of our people.
What to Expect
The Ekikibi
The signature chest dance of the Rwenzori. A high-energy, competitive display where men and women bounce and bump chests to the rhythm. It remains unique to our culture and incredible to watch.
The Instruments
Hear the thunder of the Engoma (drums) and the melody of the Endara (a large wooden xylophone played by multiple people). Our ancestors historically used these instruments to send messages across ridges.
Join the Circle
The energy is infectious. After watching the troupe perform, we welcome you to pick up a drumstick or try the Ekikibi steps yourself. Do not be shy!
